Q: How do we train our dog to use the pet door? BUY NOW
A: We have introduced many dogs between 5 and 80 pounds to the pet door. We call it introduced because the pet door makes sense to dogs. Dogs naturally use their heads to push on things they want to move. Once a dog see’s where to push, the pet door becomes second nature. We provide a written detailed description of how to introduce your dog to the pet door with the product and we have a video titled ‘Abby’s First Time” on this website under the Videos tab. We had one dog, Mable, that just went out the door! You can see her in our Dogs, Dogs, Dogs video.
Thanks for your question.
Q: Does this work for a big dog like German Shepherd? BUY NOW
A:Yes it will work for large and very large dogs. Just move the Paddle up to the height of your pet’s head.
Q: I am wondering if this product allows the dog to let itself back inside? Would you have to buy two in order to make it work?
A: Your dog can come in and go out. To come in the dog just pushes against the door to go out the dog pushes against the paddle, mounted on the edge of the door. The door is shut and held closed by a custom adjustable spring mounted on the top of the door.
There is a plate that blocks your doors latch. The dog can go in and out by itself. Your deadbolt lock works as normal. Take a look at some additional videos at https://in-n-outpetdoor.com/index.php/videos/ Thanks for your questions.
